We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the platform:

• Account data — your email address and any profile information you provide during sign-up.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent, clicks, and navigation patterns. This helps us understand how the product is used and where to improve it.
• Follow and activity data — which traders you follow, preferences, and in-app actions such as searches.
• Device and technical data — browser type, operating system, IP address, and referring URLs collected automatically via server logs and analytics.

We do not collect financial account credentials, payment card numbers, or wallet private keys.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Trailmate platform.
• Personalize your experience — for example, showing relevant trader recommendations based on your follows.
• Send transactional and product emails (account confirmation, password resets, important service notices).
• Analyse aggregate usage to understand performance and prioritise new features.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.

Trailmate uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to:

• Essential cookies — required for authentication and session management. Cannot be disabled without breaking the service.
• Analytics cookies — help us understand traffic patterns and usage. We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not build cross-site profiles.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — trusted third parties who help operate our platform (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery). They are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
• Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Business transfer — if Trailmate is acquired or merged, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you beforehand.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate fraud-prevention purposes (up to 90 days for logs).

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data.
• Data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time via the link in any email or through your account settings.

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive fields, and access controls limiting who on our team can access production data. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and respond to incidents promptly.

Trailmate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a prominent notice in the app before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
